whats the purpose of these fork-like tracks (capacitance?)?
« on: September 02, 2019, 07:04:07 pm »
I opened up a RJ45 gender changer (female to female) to find this pcb inside. Does anybody know the purpose of these interchanging, fork-like tracks? I have seen similar spark gaps but not with a soldermask. Is it some sort of very small capacitance?

Looks like capacitors.  At a guess it would be to minimise any impedance discontinuity in the cable.

Plate capacitor etched into PCB.Value will be very small.
