Where does the pad under the IC go?
« on: March 03, 2019, 11:06:44 am »
Hi,

I am looking at a MAX4910 audio switch
https://www.maximintegrated.com/en/products/analog/analog-switches-multiplexers/MAX4910.html

There is a copper pad underneath it. Should that be soldered to ground or somewhere else?

Unfortunately they haven't denoted the pad in the drawings. But it is highly possible that this is the EP (exposed pad) which should be connected to gnd.

Edit: Yes it is. In the drawing you can see that the Exposed Pad uses the dimensions D2 and E2 which is in the drawing the pad under the device.
