Will a TO-252-5 breakout board work for plain DPAK ?

• Will a TO-252-5 breakout board work for plain DPAK ?

• I would like to adapt a DPAK for testing in breadboard.   I found the adapter in the picture.   Am I right in assuming that it will work?

• DPAK is TO-252.  I think the leads on TO-252-5 are narrower, maybe you can fudge it though.

  That would not be a problem.   I can glue on something a 9x9x5mm.

  I see what you mean.   They have to be narrower to fit the additional pins between extremes and center.   The DPAK side pins may overlay into the nearest footprint, which would be a problem if the center pin in the DPAK had full length and in turn overlay the same footprint, creating a short.    As it is cut short, it will probably work.
