will this circuit work?

I've got an rgb party light that flashes to music.
It's basically LEDs that are switched on the low side by a microcontroller.
I want to connect it to some rgb led strip.
Will this circuit work?
Thanks.

If the GND-terminals are connected, yes.
The P-channel MOSFET can be replaced by a small signal BJT.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice, there is.

Okay. Just a straight swap with a pnp transistor. No extra resistors?

Yep, you already have your base resistor, just emitter to 12v and collector to your MOSFET gate.
