Hey.

I bought a step down converter from aliexpress with battery charging function.
It has two potentiometers for setting a voltage and current at the output.
I wanna charging my li-ion battery ( 3.7V , 2200mAh ) with this.
Someone told me I should use diode at the output for preventing current backflow from the battery.
What exactly diode should i use ? What the connection should look like ? I am totally amateur in this matter. Pls help

Can you show what exact module did you buy? Possibly it doesn't need a diode at its output.
The diode has to withstand maximum charging current and about double output voltage. Shottky diode will be fine, e.g. MBR1060, MBR1645, or else.

Dont know how to put a picture here but description says it is XL4015 buck converter , 5A max current. I want to charge only one battery 3.7V li-ion with i think 1A max

If you are careful handling the battery you don't need the diode. The precautions include:

- Do not have a battery connected to an unpowered XL4015 module.
- Make sure the XL4015 voltage is always greater than the battery's voltage.
- Make sure the current limit is set before connecting the battery.

I want to charge only one battery 3.7V li-ion with i think 1A max

A cheaper and simpler solution in this case is a TP4056 module. You can easily find them on aliexpress/ebay/amazon.
