Is it only my impression, or did the specimen got worse from the previous video? It feels like the value went even higher.

Nope, my eyes are not deceiving me. The value is going up in Dave’s lab. Here are histograms of 21 values from each video:
It seems that the value is actually higher even after tearing it down.
Yesterday user shapirus reported a BM037 showing absurdly high values in crest mode. If I understand correctly, BM036 and BM037 are very similar meters. That gave me an idea: what if Dave’s BM036 is experiencing a similar issue and is stuck in crest mode? I imagine noise when switching to DC may be recognized as inrush peak and reported. That doesn’t explain why the value is slowly rising.

totally, i noticed this too... it has increased over the two videos and importantly since the customer sent it in.
there's a component failing surely?
