Regarding the fours (sic) seasons card from Oona Räisänen / Helsinki. Since you asked, the stamp you checked says "Suomi / Finland", Suomi being what we Finns call Finland in our own language. The picture in the stamp is a relative of raspberry - the Arctic Bramble. Only grows rare in high latitudes and it is so aromatic you can actually smell the heady fragrance from a distance. Pricy as hell also, should you find it for sale in the form of jam or something.
While on the subject, the letter ä (a-umlaut) you are supposed to pronounce roughly like the "a" in "bad", "that" etc. All you ever wanted to know and more about Ä in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%84 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%84).

Regarding the USA Global Forever stamp, well since the price of stamps keeps going up, they made a special series called Forever stamps, so if you buy the stamp today at lets say 50 cents and 10 years later stamps are a dollar, a forever stamp will be worth 1 dollar postage. Basically the forever stamp will always be worth the current stamp price. It encourages people to stock up on stamps and raises money for the always pretty much bankrupt postal service.

I like the USPS...unless I have to go to a post office. That is usually not a lot of fun. But, dealing with the home delivery carriers and their online stuff is usually a treat, and service is quite good, and (artificially) cheap. If those idiots in Congress would just let them be, they could find their own way in the world, but alas, our Congress could screw up just about anything.
The full phrase is "get a wild hair up the ass". It means to do something semi-randomly or impulsively.
The US in fact has a few more UNESCO sites than Australia does (21 vs. 19) but not nearly as many national parks. :-(
Been meaning to get something together to send to Dave, but the primary stumbling block is being unable to find a place to buy post cards for my area. I KNOW they exist, but don’t know who sells them any more. :-/

Been meaning to get something together to send to Dave, but the primary stumbling block is being unable to find a place to buy post cards for my area. I KNOW they exist, but don’t know who sells them any more. :-/
DIY? Many of those places where you can get prints of your digital photos can print them on postcards.

I'm surprised that the rangers you've run into didn't know about UNESCO World Heritage sites. As many US national parks (Including Yellowstone, Yosemite, The Grand Canyon, and several others) are World Heritage sites. In all the US has 21 world heritage sites. (Still a couple ahead of Australia ate 19 :) )
Also sorry for the strange turn of phrase to get a "wild hair" must not be a phrase common in Australia. It means to do something on impulse.

So it is. Very strange. I always ask this every place I go, because it's never advertised anywhere in the US that I have seen.
