Which one was the best and why?
-
I was going to say the Microchip/Atmel one but didn't that actually happen. The flike DMM kit had me going so it has to get my vote. But it isn't the best EEVBlog video. That goes to #110.

I really liked the videos with Doug Ford. Its rare to find such knowledgeable old school analog engineers.
EDIT: Oh and the Agilent X2000 X3000 launch was pretty exiting too, especially since i was in the market for a scope (Ended up buying a different scope tho)

For those that didn't get it. This thread is about certain videos that get released around April...

I will go with the water etching. Firstly, it's good timing (since the Lab has been flooded)... Second, going by the comments, many did not get that this was April Fool. Which is funny. ;D

Oh.... spoiler.
I was wondering when someone was going to point that out.

PCB water etching for me. So subtle!
-
Right. We all know there are chemicals in drinking water. PCB etching video exploited that brilliantly as you could not deny that from the get go and become acceptive to the idea presented in the video.

Fluke meter kit. I fell hard for that one!
-
The one about the dumpster channel was very good.
-
The Ben Heck, because it was so real because of how Ben played along
-
Multimeter kit.
-
Multimeter kit. I bought that one hook, line, and sinker. The presentation, content, and everything was spot on. It also probably helps that I watched it in June of 2014 and was in the first 10 videos of yours I watched (in case you wonder, the first being #632 - Solar Roadways Are BULLSHIT!).
-
The 3 most common comments and emails I still get are about the Altium building, the $300k scope, and the Ben Heck channel

That was actually a last minute idea, I was desperate and got Mrs EEVblog to pick up the meter from RS components minutes before it shut, and I had the video in the bag a few hours later.
The Altium building video was also a last minute idea, and was a first shot single take job.

The Ben Heck, because it was so real because of how Ben played along
Ben was a great sport, and actually sent through 3 different clips and I picked the one that suited best, all were great, he knows how to play it.
The idea was originally that I had entered and won the (then running) Ben Heck replacement contest and I'd become the new face of Ben Heck channel. But that idea would obviously have peeved off the people who entered the then unannounced winner. So I then suggested he come join me hear and he liked that idea.

It was the multimeter kit . I fell for that one.

Yeah, multimeter kit - it just seemed so plausible. The 555 one wasn't far behind, but they're all good, and I really didn't want to pick one.
