Big screen touch screen to replace whiteboard
« on: September 16, 2023, 04:52:13 am »
Opinions please on the big screen touch screen TV to replace my whiteboard.
I could have lots of fun with interactive content.

I always had this idea since I trialed the 70" TV background and realised that a touch screen would make it more valuable.

This recent Saelig video really shows it well. Probably an 80" TV there?

I'd almost need two different sizes though, one big enough like the Saelig one to make me appear a decent size overlayed on say a scope screen or website.
And another smaller size one similar to my whiteboard which is 40"

Thoughts?

We have a few Samsung Flip at work for videoconf and as a whiteboard replacement. It's not particularly smart, but also not very intrusive. And right now it's half price here, that's actually not very expensive. You should definitely try it before committing to a purchase. Also, figure out what features you want, because video recording of the whiteboard might be tricky.

It would just be a monitor, so would use my normal PC recording setup.

The drawing is like an extra layer on top of what is displayed. So it doesn't go to the computer. Or you use it as a touchscreen input for your computer. I'm not even sure if it can do both at the same time.
But the drawing part is great, it comes with a passive stylus, it draws differently depending on how you hold it, erase with the back side or your fingers. I think it has magnets inside.
So really try it before buying, see if your intended usage even works.
