Is it a custom thing or officially Rigol allow custom start up images?

I'm having deja vu thinking this is just another Dave trick like the 555 easter egg. :)
This is way too easy to pull off in the video editor software.
But cool boot screen if it's not a trick ! it is, in fact, a treat!

I can assure you it's not a trick, it's real, and was done with a firmware update!
My video editing skills ain't that great!

That is cool. But I'm not certain it still qualifies as "coolest". There's some competition over in the Rigol upgrade dummy guide thread. (https://www.eevblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=553.msg70487#msg70487)
It may not look quite as fancy just yet, but boy does it have some future potential!

I'd like to figure out how to sneak a USB stick over to my buddy's shop and flash his unit when he isn't looking. Have it power up and say something like:
Gary. We know you hacked your scope. It will now self-destruct....
That should give him a few seconds of panic.

Nice. Its a fitting hack since part of eevblog's popularity was due to the 1052e hack, and its still one of the top topics in the stats.
