Dumpster Plugpack Graveyard!
« on: March 03, 2021, 08:33:33 pm »
Just noticed that some of the plugpacks in one of the green bins 00:48 in the video have got labels on them but can't make out much of the text from the video:

"Warning
energy(?) saving(?) device
do not remove"

Another one had written "no good"

I haven't watched follow up yet, probably explained in there:

I've already seen that video but I didn't see any of those yellow labels on the ones Dave had.

In the dumpster the white plugs and sockets seem to have the matching cables.

Was it me or the quality of this video was really poor in terms of overcompression ? Guess Dave was using a new capture device. :-//

They chopped the cables because you get more money for cables without plugs than with ones at the recycling station

If they opened up all those boxes to take something out then they left an awful lot of cable behind.  :-//

Likely its just some customers label they put on so staff don't unplug these power monitor/saving switches: https://www.plugwise.com/documents/plugwise/product_documents/EN-sting-ts.pdf (from jon on youtube)

Dave, the word you were looking for...

The crimped on "thingy" that allows the wire to be easily inserted into a pcb and soldered:  a ferrule.
