Follow up ...

About Libya , today the Americans drop 100 tomahawk missiles on several targets.

It would be interesting to know how much it cost a single tomahawk .

Sunk costs... It's really a negative cost, after this, they do not have to spend maintenance on the missile anymore ;D

Well, unless they do something silly like buy a new one to replace the spent one, then it might begin to add up to some real money.

There is a reason the things are only used for initial attacks or where planes are likely to get shot down. Jet fighters are hellishly expensive but they are still cheaper then a Tomahawk.

The ultimate in low cost death delivery though is the humble B-52. It is estimated that they will reach a 100 years in service on the air frames not just the model. That is some quality engineering.

One Tomahawk missile costs $1,066,465.00 USD, Block 4, variant.  It is made by Raytheon McDonnell Douglas Companies.  It was first made by General Dynamics.  It is powered by a jet engine.  The main operators are the U.S. Navy and Royal British Navy.  The U.K. government bought the Tac Tom Tomahawk jet powered cruise missile with a rocket booster during launch initially to gain speed and altitude.  Surf and read here, fascinating missile, 112+18+24=154 Tomahawk missiles were launched upon Libya and about 49+16=65+? charred remains or people perished according to the news.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomahawk_(missile)

Tomahawk missile can take observation from ground troops and GPS coordinates and guided by drones as tactical network centric warfare system among various branches in the allied forces during an invasion.

Who is involved in Libya:
France, France Channel 24 news said their prime minister will not send the French Legions or ground troops.
U.K.
U.S.A., airplanes flown as far as the U.S.A. have bombed Libya successfully.
Denmark
Italy
Greece, Souda base
Sweden with 8 fighter jets

http://www.keeptalkinggreece.com/2011/02/25/nato-warming-up-for-libya-greeces-souda-air-base-to-get-involved/

Who is reluctant to be involved in Libya:
Germany
Russia
Baltic Republics
Ireland
Spain
China
India

Who is suspected to be involved in Libya:
Egypt is suspected to be selling rifles and weapons to the Libyan rebels.

Airplane loses in Libya, at the moment:
One American F-15
One Su-24 Libyan Air Force taken down by accident by the Libyan rebels 23 mm cannons.  It was flown by Syrian and Libyan rebels.
One Soko Galeb G-2 AE training airplane Libyan Air Force taken down by a France Dessault Rafale jet as a warning to the no airplane allowed policy, until the dictator steps down as their leader.  The last Soko Galeb G-2 AE was made in 1985.  AE is a version for export from Yukoslav.
One MiG-23BN, pilot killed, uncertain, because white smoke and rope like pattern out of the front indicating ejection, Libyan Air Force rebel or defection.  It looks like it was taken down by a surface to air missile from someone in the ground.

Lots of death on the highways by the airplanes firing machine cannons and rebels fighting the Libyan Army.  President Obama is not able to remove the dictator of Libya.  CIA has been called to action to further plan the rebellion to make sure the dictator step down. We are not sure this objective will be accomplished.

The U.S.A. will cease some attacks, soon.  I am worried that Sweden is trying to join in with 8 Grippen jet airplanes.  I am afraid of the Grippen.  Sweden is usually a neutral country and not involved in wars.

Lawsen

Sounds like that some one, has the free choice of participating or not .
But it is not works that way ...

The countries of  NATO group are obligated to participate ,
with primary role , or secondary role , like Greece that helps just about refueling those forces.

The Greek nation are proud to say that in all the worldwide history, never ever a Greek bullet killed an Arab,
that are friends of Greeks for more than 3.000 years .
And we will keep it that way , no matter what.

Greece and the Arab nations , and the Chinese , are the primary land marks , and the primary sources of knowledge ,
for everyone who called as human today.

The few drops of oil , is an temporally reason of conflict.

I wonder how had the "bright" idea to deploy 4 F-16 to the operations (thankfully they saw it coming and recalled the decision). I don;t want to know what would have happened...

If you are talking about Greek ones, flying over Crete island , is common routine , they fly over Greece all the time.
This is why we have them ... local use .  :)

I am talking about the last Fridays decision to send F-16 with active role in Libya  operations. When they realized where that could lead us they changed their mind. "Greece attacks Arab targets". O.M.G.

offtopic.
