Title: eevBLAB #43 - Kickstarter Vultures
Post by: EEVblog on December 27, 2017, 09:53:07 am
Dave shows some of the email from "Kickstarter Vultures" he got.
Every success crowdfunding campaign will get inundated with emails from companies that are spamming their marketing, fulfillment and manufacturing services etc.
Beware of the scammers!

This is the norm for startups that are somewhat successful as well. And god help you if you end up raising money, because they just get more desperate.

One other thing they have in these emails I am not sure you touched on is that they usually include a small 1x1 white pixel in them that is associated with a unique URL, so they can see when you view the email if you don't have your client setup to not display images.

This is all of the garbage they teach in those MBA courses that are now usually compulsory just to get a job these days  :palm:
