They were ordered on the 26th, from My Cozy Life Store and House of Happiness Store.

I have a meter ordered from My Cozy Life Store on the 26th, so I have my fingers crossed. They haven't sent it yet.

Same, my 2 were from My Cozy Life Store and on 26th around 11pm.
Not shipped yet either.

I also bought mine from My Cozy Life Store on 26th 05:40, and got a tracking number on 28th 22:20.

But... recently I had a delivery stopped for unknown reasons about one week after supposedly shipped from an Aliexpres store. I requested an immediate refund when I realise that. Not that I was warned.
Only when it arrives, I'll take it for granted.
Lets wait and see

Probably the only few already in stock items will be shipped and the rest will be cancelled.
But lets wait what events will take place.

6 pages in already, and it looks like everyone's about to get rolled and or consider chasing their money back = time wasted and blown NMD  :-DMM expectations   :(

DJ may wanna consider taking a calculated punt next time in a similar situation,

give the cheap item a good thrashing in the lab first to confirm it's a goer,

buy up the lot at nine dollar before the mass panic clickage run begins :scared: :scared: :scared:

flog them all here for twenty dollar plus shipping in a 'Gone In 60 seconds..' manner,

and unlikely anyone will beef about the price markup,  especially when DJ is the one risking his cash on a bulk buy,
gambling that the arriving stock equals the initial sample,

if it arrives at all, because junks can develop leaks and sink, and or get pirated on the high seas to OZ..  >:D

And the form letter reply from DHGate seemingly not read anything I typed but going down the path of least resistance  :-- Needless to say I replied politely and firmly asking the to actually read what is being said by their 'Trusted Supplier'.

And yes the Englishified Name is as written  ::)

Good day and thanks for contacting DHgate Customer Service.

At DHgate.com customer satisfaction is something that we take very seriously and would never compromise under any circumstances.

I have checked on your order and base on the records in our system, I see here that your seller is still preparing your order and making sure that it is in good quality before they shipped it to you. The tracking number will be available on or before 2019-10-09 09:08 Beijing time as the seller's given shipping deadline. Since the seller is refusing to honor the contract which we really don't allow on our website, we suggest that you cancel this order and re-order it to a guaranteed seller and make sure to inquire to the seller first before placing the order.

Here are the steps on how to cancel the order before Shipping:

1.) Log on to DHgate.com.
2.) Click on "My DHgate" located on the top part of the page and click "Orders" tab.
3.) Click on "Awaiting Shipment"
4.) Look for the order and click on "Request Refund"
5.) Select the reason "Items no longer required", and then click on the "Submit" button.

Please make sure to use a computer and use a web browser to access DHgate website so that you can open the dispute by following the steps mentioned above.

When requesting refund, we highly recommend that you contact your seller first so that they can be aware that you want to cancel this order and request a refund. Kindly give them the reason as well so that they could respond accordingly to your request.

Please wait for the seller to accept the request within 7 days. If the seller ignores your request, you will be automatically refunded by the system on the 8th day.

At the same time, we really appreciate you for letting us know about your concern with your seller. Rest assured that we will take actions on this and make sure that you won't be dealing with this kind of problem again with these sellers because here on our site we don't tolerate seller like them.

We appreciate your trust in DHGate.com, and we will do our best to give you the utmost service you deserve. If you have any other question, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Regards,

Daffy

Lol I would have bought one for $10 just for giggles, but Daves video made it pretty clear that this thing was not going to be used by me for any kind of real work.  I bet a total nob bought them out as Dave suggested and had no idea of what he could get for them.  The sudden rush of orders probably kick started his little Ferngi brain. I suspect he will probably void all the orders and these things will pop up on another source like eBay for $50.

What BS. Even dhgate suggests that you pretend that you changed your mind rather than following their stated policy of full refund plus $20 bonus credit. And they also suggest that you contact the seller first to be sure they really are selling the item they have listed. It's like they have no confidence in their system or seller standards.

So I am a bad person for insisting on the supplier complete the contract of sale instead of their solution of no fault (and no dip to the feedback score  :horse: ) a refund  :box:

No reply from DHGate so I gather they are on holiday until later in the week.

Ferengis have to take a day off too occasionally for a rest (counting money) and ear massage

IIRC these aqua process meters were trying to dent the Fluke foothold a while back = didn't happen and won't happen,
no one into process work is going to be taken seriously doing the 4-20ma thing rocking up with a knockoff iffy CAL aqua colored meter  ??? ::)

I reckon it started as a genuine clearance, and well, someone changed their mind after watching DJ's video
and think they are sitting on a soon to be sought after meter =  :palm:

@ Ferengi: do yourselves and all potential future comeback customers a BIG favor
and flog the suckers for nine dollar to the peaved punters here, and move on..

These rules do not apply to situation where the buyer cancelled the order because of items not now required.

I think I might have figured out why the sellers wanted people in this thread to choose that particular reason for cancellation.

DHgate Seller Guarantee

Dispatch Pledge” service

Our Dispatch Pledge Guarantee applies to any product that is included as part of our Guarantee and includes the following conditions:
• When the seller does not dispatch the goods within the agreed processing time, our system will automatically return payment to the buyer and also deduct US $20 from the seller’s account to compensate the buyer;
• When the seller provides an invalid tracking number. In this case, upon notification from buyer, on his/her behalf, we will investigate the complaint. Once we have confirmed the tracking number to be invalid, sellers will be required to upload a valid tracking number at a specific time and if they are not able to do so, our system will deduct US $30 from the seller’s account to compensate the buyer.
These rules do not apply to situation where the buyer cancelled the order because of items not now required.

Dispatch Pledge (Special Condition)

If a customer places multiple orders for the same product to be shipped to the same address within a narrow timeframe (e.g. one month), these orders will be treated as one order if a seller violates our Dispatch Pledge Guarantee.

In such an instance, compensation to the buyer will be as follows:
• The seller does not dispatch the goods: $20
• The seller provides an invalid tracking number: $30

FAQs
1.If I cancel my order with or without negotiation with the seller, can I still apply for extra compensation?

No. Extra compensation is not awarded in cases where the buyer has cancelled the order.

2.What should I do if I think the tracking number the seller provided is invalid?

FAQs
1.If I cancel my order with or without negotiation with the seller, can I still apply for extra compensation?

No. Extra compensation is not awarded in cases where the buyer has cancelled the order.

No wonder they want the buyer to cancel the order.
Will see what happens in 10 days if they fail to ship.

Just wait  :) There's a holiday in China right now. Probably going to take some times before they ship. Not unusual to take sometimes on aliexpress.

I ordered from "KingPet Market Store" just an hour or two after Dave released the video to Patreons.
Mine now shows up as shipped with a working tracking number.
I did pay an extra $9 for express shipping via "Fedex IP" but according to Aliexpress the seller used TNT.
In any case so far it looks alright.
It does look like the tracking number is a regular China Post one though.
I guess that is one way to recoup a bit of cost, in any case I'm fine as long as I get my two meters :)

Looks like my seller "Sturdy Tool&Lighting Store" is working during the holidays as well, and they could fix the "quality inspection department test" problem. I like the Unicode eyes :)

All the good looking "signals" aren't what counts.  Let us know when your purchase turns up.

Mine is still in the "awaiting shipping" stage.

Worst case they ship a $5 meter, when you claim a dispute they will return the money, that way they loose less than actually fullfilling the order.

I'd be perfectly fine with it... If they weren't lying to me. This also doesn't seem to be a Dave thing other than he helped drive demand. These people obviously weren't LOSING money or they wouldn't have listed them at these prices. Instead it seems they've decided they can get more money for them.

This is a large, heavy meter. I'm 99% sure they are losing money on the shipping costs (when its $1-2), probably out $2-5 or so.
Whether or not they lost enough to lose money overall on the $9 sale though, I assume not.

Quote
Net Dimensions (cm)    20.8*10.4*4.5
Net Weight (kg)    0.54

I think there will be a lot more cancellations when the AliExpress seller gets back to work from National Day.
I don't see a weight listed for the meter, but it looks like a heavy enough package that the cost of shipping would be more than the price charged.
Just another price mistake...

Yeah, I think it would be close to it, see above claimed dimensions from one seller.

Worst case they ship a $5 meter, when you claim a dispute they will return the money, that way they loose less than actually fullfilling the order.

They can just not ship it within the timeline and let it auto-refund. Of course they are penalized for that, but AFAIK probably the same or not as much as for shipping out a fake item.

Dave. I bout a new  Hantek Dso5102p  on Ebay For $20.00 on Jun 8th. Frome someone in Hong Kong. Did you buy this clibraitor at about that time or just after? If so I think I know the story!

You will never get the item, tons of fake sellers on Ebay, many threads about this here.

Some notes from the previous thread:
Quote from: amspire
That PIC processor includes a LCD driver, and the multimeter IC has its LCD driver.

Is it a real 2 in 1 in that the LCD is driven by 2 different chips depending on the mode? That would mean the PIC chip firmware is limited to measuring and sourcing the 0-20V, 0-24mA. It is probably fairly simple firmware. You could change the PIC firmware without having to know how the multimeter chip works.

Also body is same of that of MS8218, but internals are almost completely different: https://lygte-info.dk/review/DMMMastech%20MS8218%20UK.html

Except we aren't talking about Ebay scams, where the seller gets the money before you get the product. Which means Ebay sometimes has to eat the cost of refunds under their buyer protection policies when vendors disappear like that. Which in turn means that Ebay wins somewhat by slowing the refund process, hoping legitimate claims are abandoned.

Aliexpress, on the other hand, runs an escrow system with money, and are very good about returning money to buyers in obvious cases like non-delivery. The seller doesn't get their hands on the cash until after the sale is considered final, with confirmation from the buyer or expiration of the delivery timeout if the buyer never responds. So while vendors may rebirth one of their stores to escape a soiled reputation, they don't get to take your money with them. And it costs them time and money to establish that reputation. And leaves a lot of power in the buyers hands, unless the buyers give up that power....hence the silly message attempts by vendors to get the buyers to do just that.

In this case, if vendors never report shipping paperwork to Ali, the refund process will happen automatically when the shipping timeout occurs. Which will happen in just over week for most of these unfilled orders.

Usually it is no problem to get the money back if you don't get the goods, because of the Paypal buyer protection. I didn't need this for eBay so far, but I had a few times problems with broken electronics, or lost in transit, and the seller always refunded.
