Tektronix TDS220 scope!!!  You can tell the avionics guy is serious.

The circuit in the cast aluminium box on the 10.7 GHz antenna may be a downconverter.  Most of it is a local oscillator and a mixer.

Can someone point me to the poll where Dave polled viewers about whether he should keep the TV behind him. He said to his surprise the majority voted to keep the TV.

I tried searching for it but couldn't find it. I am surprised too. Even with the "DaveHead logo" poll recently 50% said not to put up the sign. And that 50% was only 22 of 44 viewers.

I'm in the majority that don't bother voting in internet polls and I don't like distracting backgrounds. A distracting background being one that needs to be spoken about. An accumulation of stuff on the shelves is not distracting because no-one remarks on it.

Just had a thought the poll might have been on Twitter which is something I rarely look at.

Probably good that that GM counter didn't show anything, if I understand the switch labeling correctly the upper limit is 200 REMs  :bullshit:

I wondered where those copper Widlarizers would show up.  I look forward to a video from that crazy Canadian showing what you send him in return.

G'day Dave!

The high-res photo and talking head is obviously far better for commentary. You could do that and then leave the image up on the TV for the rest of mailbag. I don't know if that will end up as more work for nothing. :-\

Thanks!

The word 'Cyrillic' is pronounced like see-reel-ick, not cree-lick. ;)
<fellbuendel> it's arduino, you're not supposed to know anything about what you're doing
<fellbuendel> if you knew, you wouldn't be using it

Anyone have info on the screwdriver kit at 44:00?  I couldn't see any markings on it.

Hi Dave,

The probes are really cool. If you have some copper tape with adhesive on one side and tape a piece on top of the chip and then solder a short wire to the copper tape and solder that to a ground pin on the chip. You then solder a short ground wire to the probe ground to the copper tape and then you will have a very good ground for the scope and excellent signal fidelity!
