Looking forward to seeing you investigate the sensors in those devices.

If you care, some of these have sold for thousand+ dollars on ebay.

The webcam is hilarious though, wonder what it cost new, $1,000? $2,000?

Maybe the company that threw the stuff out was some marketing agency oder stock photo company of that kind that did the viral "grab the soldering iron by the tip" thing.

So they decorated a "biolab" with models in wrongly buttoned lab coats doing strange things on those never powered up devices. And as the whole PR campaign behind those pictures costs millions, nobody gives a damn about some tens of thousand bucks.

Here in the US dumpster diving is virtually always illegal.  Trespassing.  Theft in many venues, though who you are stealing from varies.  In some cases the entity that threw the trash into the dumpster, in others the trash company that hauls it away (and is entitled to any salvage value).

Fortunately, in most cases if you have bathed in the last day or two and look like you have eaten recently and not on drugs you will just be chased off and warned not to do it.

That's not the case here.
It is private property, but under lock and key and only accessed by the owners or tennants, and it's against the strata rules to dump stuff like this. The cleaning company in fact charges us extra to cart all the electronic and other illegal waste away because it's not part of the cleaning contract.
So I'm doing the strata and owners a favour by being proactive and enforcing the rules and removing this stuff.

  • There's more value if you figure it out yourself!

They all look to be related to optical analysis or chromatography of substances.
Interesting,
Don't ask a question if you aren't willing to listen to the answer.

This could likely have been dumped from the local distributor of the brand cleaning up returns, or by a candidate distributor that did not get the contract getting rid of demo units, or similar.
