Has a Korean quantum research group cracked the holy grail of physics, an ambient temperature and pressure superconductor that will win them a Nobel prize and change humanity forever?
Probably not.
Dave completely busts the demo video of their LK-99 material with a pracical lab example, it's so embarrassing you won't believe it!

The whole thing has been poorly handled. From the papers full of errors, the videos that don't prove anything, the questionable graphs and even more questionable results. I'm not an expert so I'm just reading the forums of what I assume are experts. They are not impressed. I hope they're wrong but I don't think they are.

How do we know that a youtube channel is officially linked to qcentre? I can create a youtube channel in minutes, I can upload a copy of the video and to put in description whatever I like

I want to see a prove that youtube channel is owned by the quantum energy research centre  - otherwise the copper demo means nothing

Yes, even if it could work, it likely would be limited in capacity, and would, if you can make small ceramic units, make for great bearings for small fans, like PC fans, with a life and RPM an order of magnitude over regular ones.  Get the noise ultrasonic, and the life over 100k hours, and you can have non noisy fans, or at least ones that are easy to silence.

Although their page appears to be down at the moment:

https://qcentre.co.kr/

The way back machine archived a snapshot of the page a few days ago and that video is linked on the front page:

In Dave's Video, this copper plate video is linked to on qcentre.co.kr
That alone should show a connection.

I can't verify that myself though, qcentre.co.kr has been blocked for too much traffic  |O

It is the video on the website, directly linked. And I verifed the email address of the Youtube channel. Zero doubt they made it and put it there.

Remains to be seen.

I can't blame everyone for being skeptical though.

If it ever does turn out to be true, even though it's a ceramic, it could revolutionize a lot of things.  Ceramics can be formed into small coils or be used as conductors embedded into substrates for various integrated and/or hybrid circuitry or deposited onto circuit boards as traces.

Once you have a magic wand you begin to find all sorts of things to wave it at.

Anton Petrov did a video on it:

Looking at the photo in the video above:

I can say 2 things...

1. I used to play with pennies on speaker magnets when I was young and I could occasionally get 1 or 2 coins to slightly stand at an angle if placed down and oriented 2 to 3 pennies just right.  If this material isn't evenly magnetically distributed across it's surface, this effect could be a fluke.

2.  I've seen examples of diamagnetic materials, the effect shown is a little too strong for the run of the mil diamagnetic materials, if it wasn't for their other super blunder video, I might be forced to say they may have the beginning of something, but don't have a clue as to the required refinement component which makes it work or how to replicate.  Basically what you see here is the sole semi-functional sample in existence and they have yet to replicate anything larger than what you see.

Their site is presently up and it shows the same video on the main page.  The page links to the video on Youtube...

But... so what?   It's a pointless video.  It doesn't indicate anything one way or the other.  There's no particular text explaining what the video is about, other than saying it is a "Magnetic Property Test of LK-99 Film".

I wonder how many more posts we will see here about this video before we find something useful reported re conformation or refutation of the paper?

There doesn't need to be any other explaination for everyone with even a modicum of knowledge in the subject to know that it doesn't matter what this test is supposed to show, it's laughable BS to do such a thing using a copper plate. This is the kind of level of silliness you expect from a dodgy crowd funding video, let alone out of a university studying this stuff.
You put up a stupid video *front and centre* on your *commercial* website and bask in the worldwide glory of this discovery, damn right you are going to get called out for your stupid ridiculous video.

To your point, you would be OK if EEVBlog titled his video " Magnetic Property Test of FR4 fiberglass material" . Because, you know,  who cares that FR4 sample was deposited on a piece of copper .

This is exactly the sort of near-hysterical reaction I'm talking about.  Complaining about this video is no different than complaining about news reports and how they are distorted by the reporters.  This video might well have been posted because of marketeers at the organization.  The people directly connected to the project might well know nothing about it and have no authority to have it removed.

I'm waiting for more substantial news, from the researchers, both in this company, and the others who might duplicate the research.

So you think the marketing team actually made the video?
No, the scientists made the video, someone in the lab went to the trouble of themrally depositing the material onto a COPPER plate. So they get to eat humble pie as a result of this embarressing mistake.

No, they wouldn't be. Some people don't like having their sacred cow questioned in any way what so ever. It doesn't matter how I titled the video, what the description is, or what I said or didn't say.

The video was made to what purpose?

You are inventing motive/intent from whole cloth.  That's my point and you are proving me right.

We have reached the point in the conversation, where each of us has made our points very clearly.  You wish to be a drama queen about this.  I prefer to acknowledge that there was a scientific paper written, and wait for the scientific responses.  Anything else seems to be hype.

Until there is something worth responding to, I won't bother you further.

The video was made to what purpose?

I saw this huge announcement (and many viewers contacted me about it) and I initially went, "meh whatever", and wasn't going to do a vidoe.
And then I saw the absolutely ridiculous video on the main web page, so I did a video laughing at and debunking that. Am I not allowed to do that? Why?
That video was probably the most ridiculous thing I've ever done a debunking video on.
If you can't seperate debunking that video from the actual research and paper, then that's a you problem.

Watch my video again. You clearly MISSED the part where I said that there could be something to this and that teams are working on trying to reproduce it. Great, wait for the results. That doesn't mean people should not mock that ridiculous video. It's a complete embarressment for the entire scientific team.
