EEVblog 1712 - CSIRO Mobile Space Mission Control Centre
« on: October 03, 2025, 01:42:31 am »
A tour inside the brand new CSIRO Mobile Mission Control & Operations Centre, built inside a b-double truck. Dr Mark Dunn gives us a tour of the new fitout.

Purpose-built, the b-double trailer deploys into a fully operational mission control centre that can accommodate up to 30 mission operators, each supported by configurable multi-monitor stations and mission-status displays. Onboard, satellite, 4G, integrated radio and vibration-tolerant servers ensure connectivity, even in remote locations. The mobile Mission Operations Centre is powered by a battery-backed solar system with generator fallback, enabling sustainable, off-grid operation across Australia's geographically dispersed launch sites.

Space what?!  That's a LAN Party room.  ;D

No different from he typical "Internet Cafe" of the 90's, except it has LED panels mounted vertically instead of CRT monitors arranged side by side.  And it's not in a basement, but in a trailer.

Reconfigurable mobile independent control centre also useable for education when not on mission. I like it.
