Pretty cool topic and here is a PDF of a chart taken from wikipedia.

I like to take things like this and laminate them and create cheat sheets for the wall.

As a note, 32-bit integers support about 9 orders of magnitude and 64-bit integers about 19. Floating point uses the bits a little differently - a 64-bit float (double) supports 16 orders of magnitude precision and can work in a space of 616 orders of magnitude.
Cryptocurrency has taught me to love math and at the same time be baffled by it.

Cryptocurrency lesson 0: Altcoins and Bitcoin are not the same thing.

WHOSE ONE [1] BILLION do you ACCEPT and should we be encouraging the Media to use metric identifiers for the $dollar

the Original "billion" was english and was 1 million x 1 million - ie 10 to the 12th power - 1,000,000,000,000

today we seem to accept the american version of 1000 x 1 million - ie 10 to the 9th power - 1,000,000,000

Personally- I would prefer a campaign to encourage all [ including the media] to make a significant change, which clears the confusion.

ie  Giga dollars = $ x 10 to the power 9th power, Mega dollars = $ x10 to the power of 6, and of course Tera dollars [look it up]

Why, well as dave refers to crappy product from a certain area as 1 hung low, I get pissed with TV news  [mentioning BILLION] when it has no real reference

Australia and many other countries including the UK use the Short Scale (10^9)

Another one of Harold Wilson's little scams. Borrow a Billion pounds long scale and pay back the billion short scale.

Man walks into a bar and says to the bartender, "Give me ten times the number of drinks everybody in here is drinking."

The bartender says, "Now that, my friend, is an order of magnitude."
