Happy New Year Dave!

Hope you get your workflow in the lab improved. Sort of looks like my desk. To much stuff messing up the work area...
Please try to finish the uSupply, I have been looking forward to this one, and I want one. I think this one will do well as a crowd funded project as well. I still need a lab power supply. Currently I'm using an old PC supply. Hope to get something better from dumpster diving at the university here, they throw away a lot of useful stuff.

Hope you get some nice time off during your summer now. The winter there in Norway is not that great yet, it's more like a bad summer at the moment. No snow. Hopefully this will change in the weeks to come so that I can go kiting on the frozen lakes  :)

Best Regards

Keep it up :)

Photo coverage with hi-res photos of tear-downs would be priceless.
As usually there is nothing on web regarding most of not so old test equipment, and you get chances to teardown
some expensive devices as well. Couple hi-res photos of internals would be price of gold for those few
who manage to buy broken abused gear off ebay and trying fix it up, just like i did with Keithley DMMs :)

I think this can bring you some of test equipment geeks just by reason of having photo resource of gear  >:D

I agree.. Best way to get people to visit Blog site more is to offer content that support the videos. Written stuff, plans, schematics, good quality drawings and photos. I have to say that for Example Mathias Wendel makes it really well. He has lots of interesting videos, plenty of written free content and he even sells the detailed Cad drawings and homemade software for those who feel the need (and or want to support him).

Ok,, some could say that his site don't have fancy web2.0 looks, but IMHO the content is much more important than the latest tricks on site making.

Best wishes for 2014 everyone!

I think some additional background content on the website could be useful. I'm pretty sure it will attract the necessary attention the blog site requires if it will be linked in through YouTube and the forum.

Maybe not even content that's directly linked to a particular video, as that's pretty good well linked or added on the forum. Maybe some preview stuff like you post to twitter on the micro-[insert] projects, etc, some minor rants about how crappy vendor sites are and EDA tools can bug out all the time.

I think teardown photos are already posted to Flickr, right? That would just a matter of linking in and/or pointing people to the links.

Live shows are entertaining to watch/hear for the waffling. Problem for me is with the last set of live shows they were too long to get through. I think the last live show was like 5 hours?  :phew: I usually try to watch any video in 1 go, and with 1.5 to 2+  hours that's impossible.

Maybe a live show with a questions section and a more or less planned section (that may otherwise not be shot or put on altzone or something) would be fun to combine. I know it's already been tried and it was a logistic nightmare getting a good video shot, and video quality on most distributing platforms is pretty laggy/crap.

Happy new year Dave!

I would suggest you to add something new to your blog.
I think that a funny side of the Mailbag would be interesting. Do you remember when some dude sent you a underwear?
In this blog you would show to us all stuff you received which isn't related to electronics.

Best wishes!

I take it you missed everyone bitching and moaning about the postcards?

HNY to one and all...

I think there's possibly some room for more interactive live shows (not like the uStream ones, they lag a bit) but perhaps more like LadyAda/Adafruit??

Hello Dave,

best wishes for you in 2014, also from Germany!

"EEVblog", I translate that to Electronics Entertaining Video Blogs.

Your vivid and unpretentious way of presenting Tear Downs and any kind of electronic stuff is the reason for the success of your site.

Keep on going that way, and I am curious to encounter the realization of your new ideas.

Regards - Frank

Hi Dave and Happy New Year!

This year I have just discovered your work and thankyou for re-igniting my interest in electronics!

Really enjoyed the EEVBLOG and have managed to catch up on all your episodes...

In response to your latest (Blog 563) I think it would be best if you get some good products out and leave the information free! It's your off-the-cuff-here-how-it-works freedom of information that has made you so popular!
I worry that of you change to pay-per-tutorial this might ruin what you have already... I do  understand that you also need to earn a living... :-\

The uCurrent is a brilliant idea, I for one will want to buy one, although you show how to design and make one in your previous blogs and I could build one, I'd rather buy one from you!

Good work fella, and all the best for 2014

Karl

I'm just making this up as I go along!
