EEvblog daily blob
« on: January 02, 2014, 10:01:49 pm »
So, do any of you guys watch EliTheComputerGuy? if so you probably watched his live show called the Daily Blob. Its very good becouse you can ask him questions and if you come early enought you will probably get answered.Do you guys think dave should do a live show like that regurarly? I think that would be a good idea. He wouldnt nessesarly have to do it every day , but lets say once a week or wathever. Would be good to get Dave`s opinion on this if that is possible

Dave does Q&A videos sometimes, and he may do a series of a few videos soon (I think?), but I really don't think it would be practical for him to do it on a regular basis. I'm not Dave, but I can't see this happening.

The problem is the time zones. Too many people complain they can't watch it live.
The other problem is that, by the nature of the live shows, the questions have to be pretty simple and can't involve me having to explain something technical on the whiteboard or bench. So ultimately such live show just end up as half-arsed content. Some people enjoy it, but I think the majority would prefer my properly produced shows.

Wow , i didnt think i`d get dave responding.
I would realy like to watch one of those amp hour shows, but i never got to watch them live. Ill probably watch a replay now to check if it is realy "half-arsed content"

Also , yes i know they cant be too techinical questions. But just some random questions such as "Can you do a video about _____?" or  "What is that multimeter at the back" or "Will you ever continue the _____ series". Besically simple questions like that. But im new to the forum , so maby you answer simple questions like that here.

And yes, Time zones are anoying.

Also , will you ever make a new amp hour show? or did you stop making them?

The amp hour is an excellent pod cast with Dave, Chris Gammel and occasionally a guest and aside from Dave being in it, stands separately from the EEVBlog

But it doesn't have to be ANY valuable content (I'll explain later in the post), maybe just upload them on to the altzone or something, raw no-edit.

Have no idea if anybody will agree with it - for you it may be a half-arsed content, but to me, those live shows make a "family-like" connection between the EEVBlog Towers and me - the humble viewer. Yeah, I watch this crazy aussie bloke's videos, as I am watching those well-produced, scripted tutorials. But the difference is that from time to time I can interact with this eevblog-guy on an "live" basis, not exactly to ask him how to wire up a LM339, rather how're the spiders down under at the moment and so on. I've been on 2 live shows so far and they were great. Keep'em coming :)

What about instead of a live show you could ask for questions in advance and then you pick some of them to answer in a video that gets posted?
That gives people the opportunity to ask you questions, and you have the opportunity to pick the ones you wish to respond to and prepare.

None of my videos are scripted.

Of course they aren't. Misunderstanding due to my english, it should be: "Yeah, I watch this crazy aussie bloke's videos, also I am watching those well-produced, scripted tutorials from others. But the difference is/.../". Sorry.
