EEVblog 575 - DIY 1970s Spectrum Analyser - schematic's ?
« on: November 13, 2021, 12:38:13 am »
Does anyone know where Phill's schematic is or if or a 1960's 1970's, discrete style SA that 1 can build with copper clad and discrete parts, and make a homebrew SA good for at least a few 10's of MHz ???

I'd like to try to make 1, and test the parts as I build it, to see if they match the spec's needed, and calculation's, etc. That would be a good excuse to buy real brand-name JFets, and make them work, I've heard they still vary a lot.

Phil built a really cool looking SA. I guess the hardware alone will be pricey, but considering the cost of SA's, why not. Looking at the video I can see a lot of the parts/connections, I suppose I'm not far from from knowing what would be needed anyways.
