There are cool HDMI/VGA/Analog TV/Audio/USB -> LVDS devices (http://www.banggood.com/V59-Universal-LCD-Controller-Driver-Board-V59-Baffle-Iron-Stand-p-956017.html?p=2H3103510292201403NO) below 15$ these days. Remote is even included and you can play some files from USB drive.
So you can create your own monitor from spare/old notebook/tablet LCD just like:

Note that I forgot to buy universal inverter (http://www.banggood.com/1pc-Lamp-Backlight-Universal-Laptop-LCD-Screen-Inverter-528V-p-923935.html?p=2H3103510292201403NO), so used... desk lamp as backlight ;-) Waiting for inverter delivery.
Version from photo is cheaper version (http://www.banggood.com/Universal-LCD-TV-Controller-Board-VGAHDMIAVTVUSB-Interface-p-936100.html?p=2H3103510292201403NO) - without USB features (USB is used only for firmware uploading) and no teletext (if I remember correctly), too.
Signal comes from Raspberry Pi using HDMI.

"Christian Finger" from "Fingers Welt", well i don't know if this was supposed to be some kind of trolling (the styroform stuff), but since he did sent you a multimeter i guess it wasn't.
It's his real name and he runs a website called "Fingers Welt" (Fingers World), to be found via www.fingers-welt.de (http://www.fingers-welt.de)
I don't know how i shall describe him, but he some kind of very clever electronics engineer with a vein to complete madness. I know and love his site and I started laughing immediately when you read his name. By hearing the name i already expected his package to be something like this.
On the DVD you will find a strange movie, related to destroying washing machines, reviving frankensteins monster and much more, all in the name of world domination (which is some kind of meme in his forum and on his website). I don't know if you got a version with subtitles, or if it's only in german language.
I guess you can take it as some kind of deference (i don't know if it's the correct word, sorry) to you.
Edit: The green thingy (it looked to me like artificial grass) was supposed to be an "Eel" (german Aal, a fish), on his forum they call it "Ver_aalen" (the underscore was added by me) when you build new stuff from mostly crap/leftover things.

I remember recently when Dave made a video on how he made the mailbags, that is it was a video of himself recording the session. It may have been a live feed or something similar.
Anyway, personally I didn't enjoy it, it may have been the first one that I stopped before it concluded.
I will admit that to me it felt like the magic was not in it, like find out later that the rabbit was in the hat the whole time, or that Santa doesn't actually ex...ex...exi...exi... ahchoo, sorry guy's but I had to sneeze.
Now were was I, oh yes, like finding out that Santa doesn't actually exit the premise's in the same manner that he entered.

Not only his page needs to be translated, also the page of Zabex: www.zabex.de (http://www.zabex.de) needs to be translated. He's also a genius, not as mad as finger, but also great.

I like these TekBox near-field probes because they are soo cheap, but they look a little bit bulky for me.
The ones I use at work looks much sexier :)

At about 09:18, in the multimeter teardown there are some resistors which on first viewing I read as white black white silver or something - is that 90 gigaohms ;) It's not every day I see stuff not in E24 (909 is in E48) (and I guess a 10% tolerance wouldn't be much use in a precision multimeter...)

Finger and Zabex are amazing. Sometimes I laughed my ass off, because of their strange constructions and ideas. Loved Zabex's thing to grill sausages with a huge industrial welding inverter that is capable of up to 3000A. Or using the spark of the same inverter as a speaker, to play music from his MP3 player. There are so many weird things on their websites. It is worth a look. But I think with google translator it is only half of the fun.

Yep, it was a live unedited feed of the entire thing. IIRC that was a quick mailbag that only took about 2 hours to shoot.

Yep, welcome to real word of mostly boredom making videos, it's certainly not a fun thing to watch!
Same thing with going to taping of TV shows if you've ever been to one, it kinda ruins the magic.

I didn't buy them on my own; we use them at the company where I work.
It's the "Entwicklungysystem ESA1 (http://www.langer-emv.com/produkte/stoeraussendung/messplatz/esa1-entwicklungssystem/)" (Development system ESA1). The set contains also an EMC-tent.
I don't think that somebody would buy it as a private person ;)
That's why I like the TekBox-probes. I can imagine to buy them one day.
