Rigol DS1052E data acquisition

Hi there!
I bought one of those Rigol DS1052E DSOs and I would like to know if anyone here knows why the Ultrascope program only downloads the samples of a waveform that are shown on the screen (which is always <= 600). However when I save a .wfm file via the DSO to a USB memory stick I get the full 1 meg points into the stick, even the samples of the trace that are off the sides of the screen.

Anyone know what is going on here?
