Being a YouTube blogger must have lots of stress that comes with it, especially when it comes to providing security for a family.  But at least it lets you be there with and for your family!

A hearty "Great job!" to Mrs. EEVBlog.  She has a knack for surrounding herself with decent guys.

Congrats Dave... Hope you and Mrs EEVblog get some sleep when you can otherwise we may have a few off the cuff Dave rants...

As for the neural electric project I tried out one a bit over 2 years ago. Tricky little things to program. The input stimulus doesn't always have the desired output logic. Maybe i screwed up the excitation equations somewhere but who cares they are a real joy to reprogram.

Is there room for expansion, or are 2 modules enough? I hope the projects are compatible even though they aren't a matched pair.

Some funny Dave quotes when applied to this topic:

"Don't turn it on. Take it apart."

"...trap for young players"

"Bob's your uncle."

"made by nude virgins"

"built like a brick dunny"

But in all seriousness, congratulations! "she'll be right"  ;)

Congratulations Dave. Nice Fluke baby grow, is that custom?

"A (insert other meter brand here)  baby shirt would have been a better value with more features at a lower price.   As this project should be kept well away from the mains and any harsh environments, the Fluke ruggedness isn't necessary."

Congratulations on your shiny new Australian!  ;D

Let us know when you get your first "Hello World" coded on your little project bundle of joy!
Once he gets his first coherent output function, it'll be nothing  but  :blah:

Careful of those other output functions. I hear those can be a real stinker!  :-DD
At least you're a pro though. Pays to have prior experience when taking on these new projects! Don't make it any easier though! :scared:

Is there room for expansion, or are 2 modules enough? I hope the projects are compatible even though they aren't a matched pair.
The motherboard may not be able to support additional draw on her supplies.
Also Dave might need to shift to a new enclosure with extra expansion bays for the new module.

Do NOT TRY TO PLUG THEM TOGETHER - even though they're not a matched pair, it may have unexpected consequences.

Having seen Dave's old 4-wheel 'buss' in previous videos, he should be ok, but will need to add an extra 'riser' for Huxley in the rear.

Edit: Look out for leakage of electrolyte over the first year or so.

Would be interesting to see if the new revision actually fixed the errata in the first, and more importantly, how many new errata were introduced. Not sure if it's the case here (probably not?), but I've heard it's especially interesting if you're dealing with a totally different architecture.

Was a second revision in the plan from the beginning?

Nah, probably Lenina Huxley from Demolition Man. The main protagonist also does teardowns, blows stuff up and can be regularly seen with a large knife. Makes sense.

Congratulations on the new arrival, and the lack of videos over the last month or so is now explained  :-+ SWMBO here wasn't too keen on Sagan as a first name but she likes Huxley and so do I, we therefore await the arrival of Clarke, Smith, Wells and Asimov.

Perfect sense. Probably it gives also a preview of the next project. Nowadays codenamed as: Project G.I.R.L.
ETA: Presentation in EEVblog #1000 (Come on, that´s doable!)

BTW: Typical engineer.
Started a project. Had thereby fun with fiddling and tweaking (perhaps with the tongue in the right angle).
But the biggest part of the real work of construction was delegated to an other.
After arriving of the complete done order, if it´s a success, then presenting the result as the proud initiator.
It´s always the same...

In every case:

From Germany 12 Points!

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Jones!
Best wishes to Sagan and his new pal Huxley!    :-+ :-+ :-+

For those of us who find such videos physically painful to watch -
You need not be afraid, he thankfully did not take it apart.
No, it's just something about a video like that that makes me cringe hard.
Can't quite point it out, however.

BTW: Typical engineer.
Started a project. Had thereby fun with fiddling and tweaking (perhaps with the tongue in the right angle).

In every case:

With that ID is it merely a statement of professional ability in that department  :-DD :-DD

Sagan... is he named after Carl Sagan?
Huxley... is he named after Aldous Huxley?

Young Huxley may easily live until the year 2100.

Moore's law will have reached its limit in semiconductors by then.
And the latest Windows will be Windows 10.

Congratulations!

Congrats Dave!

Its great to see you and yours doing so well. I have gained much knowledge and enjoyment from your videos, I've rediscovered electronics and much of that is due to what you do.

All the best. (shucks, Kiwi's have to be nice to Aussies sometimes)

First I thought that: "WOW that robot baby actually look like a real one. Maybe it's a robot from Japan or Germany".
After 2 minutes I realized that it was a real baby.  :palm:

Yup, you got me with that big box and talk of a special mailbag. Congratulations Dave and Mrs. EEVBlog!  A big  :-+ :-+ for your latest project. Best birth announcement ever, or perhaps second best. I wasn't a subscriber to your channel when Project Sagan was announced.
