The power required to run a flux capacitor is 1.21 GW.

If you can't see the decimal point, you're not worthy.
(If Dave develops another product, I've suggested the model number: 1210MW) While technically more accurate, it doesn't have the same ring to it.

CPM700 is a discontinued product,
maybe the factory can publish the schematics? :P

2V7 likely is a analogue ground. 2V7 is about right for a LM324 with split rails. Not 3V because of the positive common mode limit.
So a 22 is a LM324, and a 27 is a LM380.

Dave, did you try adjusting Vcc and see if that allowed the probe detect to start working again?

Hm... another successful repair. IIRC, that is two in a row. The EEVblog repair curse has gone away (for good?). We saw just the bottom portion of the new meter in a previous video. Has Dave let the cat out of the bag by allowing us to see an EEVblog branded meter that is not the Brymen one we all know about? This new meter says 121GW on the front. In electronics notation it would be 1G21W as G is the power of 10 and W is units.

He mentioned on youtube that he did, and that voltage was scaled with vcc so didn't help.

I heard from someone who worked there, and yes it was discontinued the other year.
It's the original model that the company founder designed.

I remember in a previous video Dave mentioned that he didn't want to point out who the manufacture was, if that's the case it might be a good idea to take this app down from the public store, you can tell who the manufacture is quite easily...

You don't even need to click that link. It cites the app package ID which has been created using the typical Java package naming convention, so it already gives everything away...

That is one sexy meter. Did I miss an announcement? All the recent videos have just said "mystery meter" and Dave's been reluctant to show much of it on screen (aside from the 3d printed model). Either way, that looks firmly in the "shut up and take my money" category; nicely done Dave! Can't wait for it to go on sale!

It appears that my Rev E CPM-700 hasn't had all the markings removed, except for the package mounted to a half assed heatsink (folded piece of aluminium) next to the big black piezo buzzer which is marked '70'.
