Dear Dave

Dear Dave,

I just watched your video of drawing for Patreon supporters. It's great that you want to reward people who support you. However, this time, like all the previous times you were giving away rewards to your Patreons, I felt very sorry and forgotten. Today Patreon is The Big Thing, but next time when you will be doing a draw, please remember also about us, humble supporters of your web site. I understand that what you're getting is probably peanuts compered to what you get from Patreon, but remember that those with "Supporter" status under the forum nick name believed in you long before it was hip to brag about being EEBlog's Patreon.

No one is stopping you from becoming a Patreon supporter too.

Don't forget, Dave doesn't owe you anything. You should support him for his channel content. Anything past that is a bonus.

It's not about "owing". I did not become supporter because I expected any material compensation in exchange, but to help Dave produce his content.
It's about treating all supporters equally. All giveaways Dave does are also accessible for non-supporters, and if I care about what he gives, I enter them. I can not care less whether there are prizes for supporters or not. This will not affect my decision to commit money to Dave's work. However, since _he_ decided to give rewards, it would be nice to include all contributors.

Dave owe us a lot I will say. What is a youtube channel with no views or small numbers of views? What is a forum with no subscribers or small number of subscribers? Not to many people participating and no sponsors that will be.

Of course this is the result of Dave's good work on the youtube and the forum and the people participating, but saying he does not owe us anything is incorrect.

I worked for a company, we were number one in the world, and that company disappeared because at the end only a small number of people where buying our products. So you need to take care of your customers and products/services or you will loose customers, or in this case participants

Following voluntarily somebody / something does not mean, that you have the right to expect something in reverse or a reward.

Just my two cents.

Oops, sorry, yes, I should have included supporters on here. I've been trying to phase out the paid supporters PayPal forum thing and get everyone to switch to Patreon as the only way to do paid support, so kinda forgot about it. Most people use Patreon these days.

This,
This needs to emphasized for people that have come to the forum with a non-formal electronics background such as myself. The forum has proved invaluable in rounding out and expanding my knowledge into areas where I had gaps. I couldn't get such a "leveling" education otherwise even if I wanted to pay.

Thanks to gnif and simon for keeping the wheels greased and turning.
