Title: New sub forum request for consideration - parts available/want-this-and-that
Post by: tkamiya on September 15, 2018, 05:45:34 pm
I know there is a buy and sell section but they are not quite appropriate for this.

I started offering parts - cheap - for EEVBLOG members.  I am ending up with too many half-dead equipment that I'm not going to fix.  They go into parts rack in my garage.

Having said that, I know many people do this and it's really a handy way to hard to get parts.  eBay asks for outrageous prices sometimes/often that it's not economically feasible.  Would Dave/Mods consider having a section where we can advertise what we have and willing to part out?  Conversely, a section for what we need and see if anyone has it?

I think it's a worthy way for our forum to help each other.

Why would the current buy/sell section not be appropriate?

There is no reason you cannot post things for low cost or free-just-pay-shipping or whatever...  ??

It's because the post will have to live for a while and it's not a "thing" I'm offering.  Buyers will have to tell me what they are looking for.  I guess it'll be ok though.

Just check back periodically for people putting up a Wanted To Buy post.

Besides, putting up a post with some model/part numbers can be useful.  Yes, it will drift down the sub board - but this can be searched.  So - when putting up such a post, include text that will encourage inquiry from someone who finds it in a search 6 months down the track.
