What tool(s) to screen capture and comment on screen Dave uses?
« on: February 17, 2020, 06:42:52 pm »
Hello,

I tried to make a video for my channel, but I didn't succeed.
The screen of my PC was recorded, but all the markers, lines, like Dave uses to mark points of interest, were not recorded.
I now wonder which software stack Dave may use (Inspired by "EEVblog #1285 - How to do Design By Inspection", where capture, mark and erase works very well)?
May be, it is all post-processing?

Tarik

He's opening the PDF in a fantastic Windows only program called Drawboard https://www.drawboard.com/ . It only works on PDFs though, it's not a screen drawing app.

Windows 10 only, apparently.

Haven't seen that limitation before...

Perhaps because your screen capture software was set to capture only the contents of a specific window, but whatever you were using to annotate does it as an overlay that is technically a separate window, so it doesn't get captured.

Might be worth trying something as simple as capturing a specific area or the entire screen, then it might work.
