The thing is, places with limited (or nonexistent) greenspace have minimal mosquitos.

Most of Toronto is fairly mosquito-free.

Tech-oriented internet fora, as a phenomenon, and activity on them are heavily biased towards north-west cultures. Canadian population is about 4% of that. Add language as an additional barrier for comfortable communication.

I’d also not exclude the possibility, that the first factor is further amplified: biases in exposure to forum’s existence affecting users influx. But that is something we have limited information on.
