EEVblog 1532 - Another $2.8M WiGL Wireless Power Grift
« on: February 28, 2023, 11:07:04 pm »
WiGL have raised another $2.8M on StartEngine for their mobile phone charging wireless power grift, in addition to the $5M they raised a year ago.
And yep, it's STILL using off the shelf technology, but this time with a new partner!

It should be mentioned that the google algorithm optimizes results for you. So finding your own videos on YT or generally finding debunking stuff is basically google doing its job and showing you stuff that you like.

Getting invested in this is still stupid, but at least most likely people do not see the same results on their first google page.

Personalized results are true but I still see the same thing when searching from a blank browser, or when using duckduckgo.
As Dave says, 10 minutes of research would give you major warning flags if not immediately tell you its outright trash investment.

Technically true. But everytime someone says that and I try the same thing in a blank browser with no histroy I get the same result.
I just did it again now and I get the same result except that I also get this latest video now. And the other busted article is now result #1 instead of result #2

Not sure if you saw this nice tidbid Dave, but on their startengine page where they get people to "invest" there's a discussion section and you came up.  They realized they couldn't debate for-profit fake news.  Only novices use evidence and logic to prove their arguments, the pros only focus on polishing that turd.  <sigh>

WiGL debated with them in early 2022. At first it was real, meaningful, productive EE inquiry, but that soon changed when they realized they could get >1M YouTube views (and paid$$).

Once we realized you can't debate for-profit fake news; we stopped debating and answering for everything that's ever happened in the history of the wireless power industry.

WiGL got to work building a tWPT network to recharge meaningful devices using what's available on the market today...and they kept debating theory...without us.

So they switched from debating WiGL about wireless power "networking"... to everything was counter WiGL. They didn't like our Tx's...that we purchased from others. They didn't like the PowerBank (that's cheating the science). Or when what WiGL presented didn't fit their fake news  narratives they either ignored it, or downplayed it ("well yeah if you use capacitors").

But to their credit, they never called WiGL a scam; that's defamation. And they agree that our tWPT patents are the future. Sadly, they need content, so they'll never acknowledge our facts. Heck, with all the views ($$$) they've gotten from spinning people up about wireless power...in this new world of reality TV and alternative facts...we don't see them stopping.

So we'll keep on doing/proving and leave the debates for the novice.

Proof/facts: Since our EEs are testing and packing for next week, I've asked them to video our WiGL-enabled Rx Generation 1 PowerBank, roaming on the WiGL-enabled PowerCast and/or Energous Tx's.
Results: It currently takes the network ~24hrs to recharge the Gen 1 Rx. We are waiting for contract award to try to cut that by X% on Gen 2.

This is a HUGE paradigm shift. We don't expect everyone to get it or believe it. So we're demonstrating the tech. Hard to debate working MVPs, but to make a buck on YouTube, we are sure they'll try :-(

Let's WiGL Together.

I don't see this on the discussion page though, how recent is it?

It's the response to Brett Denaro from 2 months ago.  I had to select 'Show More Comments' about 4-6 times to get down to it.

I'm experimenting with wireless power. Please fund me. Here is my lab.
