You Tube idiots have changed their video playing framing?

This is their latest fiddle around. No longer do i see the option to click for widescreen or fullscreen. I see a RHS cropped image & then you have to double clickor at full screen no other option.  & you get a full frame on the monitor, no comments etc... Why You Tube?  So Dave's vid plays with the RHS chopped off no other option. Just dumb...

Scratch that....!!! Its bloody FireFox messing with my the window size!!! Apologies to You Tube. So darn annoying though.... Joys of having dual 4K screens & Fibre 300 so it's quite good being able to watch 4K video as it streams in but watch out as FF crops the vid framing automatically now rather than resize it proportionally as it used to do depending on how big your window frame is.... sheeze!

hmm.. youtube app does the same to me if i block screen orientation and hit fullscreen

I've been wanting to ask similar question.
  On el-cheapo phone it used to be the case, could go back and forth, between 'upright' and widescreen sideways (using a tripod stand).
   Now, many 'widescreen' attempts are met with blank screen, but some title msg, like "Press xx and drag for xx".  Or, barely touch the 'widescreen' and it shrinks to 1/4 size, there.  You cannot touch the bottom progress bar, (to go back couple minutes), or same thing; it goes from full screen, to 1/4 occupied.
That's not EEVBLOG, it's YouTube on any video. Might be Android user interface.  Gawd, I wish we had more 'genuine' market stuff.
   I'm trying to study, about 'Anti-trust' dynamics, monopoly markets just 'Kiss the Green Butt from Hell', as my late-friend Jeffy would say...
