(AU) free Tek 7000 series CRO
echen1024:
Greedy bastard!
TerraHertz:
So he got $67 for it.
Not a bad price actually, considering it includes three plugins. Though not particularly good ones.
My snipe of $53 didn't even get a mention. Would have bid higher except I've overspent lately, and am broke.
I still don't have any storage tube 7000 series scope, and wish I did. I bought a rackmount 7633 a few years ago, but that was the saddest story of incompetent packing by a USA seller ever. He put it in a large box, with absolutely no padding of any kind. Just loose in the box. To ship to Australia. What an arsehole. Or perhaps severely retarded, I don't know.
Of course it was severely damaged.
Some day when my aluminium TIG welding skills are improved enough, I may make an attempt at restoring it. A lot of the metalwork needs reconstruction.

I was watching the end of that auction out of interest, and was amazed when it jumped from $10 to $67 in the last 30 seconds or so. The interest in these scopes must be quite high, especially since this one was pickup only and still got so many bids.

You're not from around here, are you? :P
Australia - definitely not the lucky country when it comes to test gear of any kind.
Also, plenty of not very bright people. I'm amazed people still dick around with bidding long before end of auction.

Actually I'm from Canberra :P
I guess what I was trying to say is I was surprised by the number of people who bidded because all of them must have been local to one particular area, and I wasn't aware that the demand for test equipment was so high here. I just assumed that the demand was low along with the low availability.
On a related note, I managed to buy a Tek 2225 this weekend for $75 shipped, which is very rare for Australia. It was from eBay but the purchase wasn't exactly conventional..
