I don't think that 10 years ago qualifies as recently.
each reel of 4000 units for 10€, 10 reels available, postage not included.
what would postage to (northern) europe cost?
Well, done, to the trash they go. Jeez.
They may be not as solderable as fresh parts. Depends on component itself and storage conditions.
Quote from: wraper on October 17, 2018, 04:59:07 pmDon't get me wrong, I think that's a reasonable price with current MLCC shortage. They may solder just as well as fresh parts, or may not.I'm getting you exactly right. These capacitors are in perfect condition, otherwise I wouldn't sell them, but I guess you would and there lies the doubt. I measured 20 of these and they measure from 97.5 to 101nF, most around 99, and this is X7R so any lower capacitance could be explained by applied voltage. Can't reflow them right now but I'd bet they'd be perfect, the capacitance itself tells they have been stored properly, besides that I know that for a fact. Anyway end of story

I would have taken five rolls without questioning
I may be accused of trying to con someone
I’m intrigued what you would have done with 20,000 100nF caps? Please tell...
Nothing was asked. Assuming is what happened. I had one reel already packaged which I'm giving to someone for free. I have other stuff that I was thinking of giving just for the shipping price but now I say fk it, I may be accused of trying to con someone
Since the price was very good I would have stocked those since I can't get my hands on new caps for a reasonable price right now.

Nobody talked about big production runs. I tend to stock Stuff that I know will be usefull soon or is somehow rare and could be of some value in the more or less near future. However, I don't run after someone who doesn't want to sell his stuff.
But why would you need 20000 capacitors?
