WTB [UK] Digital oscilloscope (4 channels?)
« on: November 11, 2020, 04:35:06 pm »
Looking for a digital oscilloscope for my university project, as my LeCroy has kicked the bucket. High bandwidth isn't really required but serial decoding and 4 channels would be a nice bonus.
Death, taxes and diode losses.

The Rigol DS1054Z seems to be the default choice for a basic 4 channel scope. Also pretty easy to find used on ebay.

I have a very good condition used Rigol DS1054 (100 MHz all channels, all options unlocked) that I'd be willing to sell as I have a MSO2000 arriving in a fortnight. Feel free to make me an offer if you're interested!

Seriously consider using a scope to debug analogue "signal integrity" problems and ensure the analogue waveforms will be correctly interpreted as digital signals. Then flip to the digital domain and use very cheap logic/protocol analysers to debug digital signals.
There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.
Glider pilot's aphorism: "there is no substitute for span". Retort: "There is a substitute: skill+imagination. But you can buy span".
