[W] LTZ1000CH
« on: May 26, 2014, 08:31:01 pm »
I'm searching for LTZ1000CH, someone out there who wants to sell this part to me? I don't want to buy a bunch of 40 parts and the only thing I could find is LTZ1000ACH at ebay 251535960814.

Why not try Linear themselves. There might be a minimum quantity of 2 (that is the default number) but the prices don't seem to be any different from the ebay second hand ones:

http://www.linear.com/purchase/LTZ1000

and at least you'll be sure of getting a genuine part.

Why not try Linear themselves.

Because they don't want to sell to private people and to small companies.

The Linear guy in my region is quite nice to me, I can buy most parts direct.
I'm not saying we should kill all stupid people. I'm just saying that we should remove all product safety labels and let natural selection do its work.

I've not gone as far as buying off them, but they give the appearance of wanting to sell in that they have a credit-card service and shopping cart.
But I guess you have to register and they only let large company customers do this?

I had a play with digikey and they don't go below 20 (one version has a price break at 20 and the other at 200! - I'm not sure why).

But have you tried bypassing the dealers/suppliers and just using the Linear shopping cart? I had a play and it seemed to let me get quite far with a minimum quantity of 2, I don't want to buy one (just yet) so I didn't go as far as actually ordering.

Looking at TiN's thread:
https://www.eevblog.com/forum/projects/project-kx-diy-calibrator-reference-sourcemeter/

he seems to have ordered a quantity of 1 initially - it might be worth asking him who the supplier was (or perhaps it is somewhere in the thread).

I did not know that, just ordered on website and that's it :)
I'll buy more LTZs (both A and non-A) soon.

Ditto, got 5EA of LTZ1000, 1013, 1052 directly from LT in US, with no problem.
250$ minimum order volume.
Price of devices, plus postage, VAT, toll summed up, so that the LTZ1000 cost me around 42€ (instead US-$).
