I was going to buy from teequipment.net however they are out of stock until April, so if anyone knows of another good shop in US or is looking to sell one in good shape I would love to know, thanks!

www.tequipment.ne has the 's' version, which does cost more, though.

I would try to see if they are willing to discount the 's' enough to motivate you.  maybe they might; if its not a fast moving model (the base is the more popular one, of course) they might want to let it go just to keep the stock moving.  doesn't hurt to call and ask.

I have my eye on the 1074z also, but I'm looking to buy it in the next few months, not urgently right now.

My max budget is $650, I doubt they will bring it down that low, maybe I could convince them to give me the 1104Z for that but then I will feel ripped off since I am going to hack it anyway rofl.

2-channel 100MHz for $674* by BK
The screen is small, screen looks nicer on the Rigol.

Someone said that Tonghui makes them. I recall that Agilent low-end scopes are Rigols. Doesn't sound like a good deal for agilent.

We stock more than anyone and everyone combined.

Thanks for the business.  Have you considered the ds2072a?  Its 2 channels but a hell of a scope.

Tequipment is a very good distributor. They are especially responsive to emails and will answer many questions that other distributors are unwilling to answer.
I'm not saying we should kill all stupid people. I'm just saying that we should remove all product safety labels and let natural selection do its work.

Indeed, I have no doubt teequipment is going to get all of my business whenever I am shopping for gear :), luckily my budget managed to expand enough for me to get the -S model :D.  The DS2072A really was tempting but 4 channels + sig gen really is more useful to me then the bandwidth, at least for now, hopefully soon I will have the money to get a MSO with RF SA, but I imagine it will be a minute for that hehe.

Just an FYI - placed an order from Tequipment for the 1074z and was told it will be in stock April 24th. Still worth the wait.

Sadly, they didn't get my business for the Flir E4 this time, but that was in no part their fault. Another distributor had them in stock, and said that it probably was the old version. Would've loved purchasing from them, but sadly, I couldn't.  :(

FYI, I just called Rigol US and they claim to have a few DS1074Z-S in stock (they physically checked stock on the spot). So I ordered one... but it sounded like it wasn't the last.
