Not mine... (thankfully!)

EDIT: It just occurred to me that this is probably the guy who runs the Kurt's manuals server. Kurt Rosenfeld. (seems to be down at the moment) http://exodus.poly.edu/~kurt/manuals/manuals/

I bought this lot. Let me know if you guys have any specific requests because there's only a couple items I really wanted. I couldn't resist for the price. I am willing to ship anywhere and of course the prices won't be retarded, because you all know what I paid for them. I'll update a with some detailed pics and item specifics as soon as I pick it up.

Let me guess that the "HP 4274A" is among the units you want!

Negative brotha. It's the item I hoped would help me pay for the older stuff I really wanted, though. But if you want it, you've got 1st dibs.

Nah, two in one year still has me saturated, and it is on the wrong end of the country.  The second lot also has had some more significant challenges.  I'm off visiting relatives at the moment, but shortly after I get back I hope to be posting the methods and results for making replacement Tek knobs.  I've got quite a few that need replacement and that I either haven't found on the internet, or can't talk myself into paying the asking price.  I got the molds made before I left, but still have to work out the dyes to do color matching.

I was watching this auction and was glad someone else bought it - I may be interested in the HP 4274A if Tamhan doesn't want it. (PA here)

Photon,

No worries. If he doesn't reply I'll send you a message once I have it.

Also:

I asked the admin if I could post pics of the stuff for sale (the stuff I won't keep) here and I am waiting their reply. They have some rules in place to prevent people from listing long strings of items and I want to make sure I am not breaking those rules. Ideally the stuff I am not keeping will be posted on this page and everyone can grab what they want. I have no problem shipping as long as the buyer is willing to cover the costs. I have  a bunch of medium boxes and bubble wrap left over from my recent move, so the packaging part is covered. I was happy to get the lot so it didn't go to the scrap yard. There were 61 total pieces and I plan to pick it up tomorrow (05/30/2017).

Other people have posted long listings with items before in the buy/sell/wanted section so I strongly doubt it is a problem.

I believe that the issue is people posting 20 different posts for their 20 items

Here are a few pics of the bigger scopes. Kurt gave me so many extra plug-ins for the scopes that I will need several more days to test everything. So far, I have been amazed that everything is in working order. ( The probes and test block(s) for the HP 4274A LCR Meter were not included, but I have ordered the parts so I can thoroughly test it).

god... I can buy this entire lots if you sell them but let me know if the fluke frequency counter work first. Even with the shipping rate of 8.5$ per kg it is still worth it

Well, this is what I drove home. I stopped immediately once I was out of the city and shipped about 30 pieces to my house. There were to many items for me to safely carry in my small SUV, so I stopped and bought boxes and padding and mailed them to myself.  I spent about 3 hours outside of a small post office in Newark bubble wrapping, padding, and boxing items. They should be here next week.

Kurt did create and runs Tekwiki. He ran out of space for this stuff. I wish I had more time to hang out and see the complete collection but I was parked in the middle of the road and by the time we got it loaded, he had to leave for another meeting.

Probably the same person that runs tek-wiki too.

Man, I would be in SO much trouble if I had picked up that haul!

But I would be so happy, I wouldn't care  ;D   .... that is, until reality set in and I realised I would have to move most of it on.   :(

... and I'm getting frowns from you-can-guess-who just looking at the piccies.

Edit: Reality check.

That Type 547 is one sexy scope. They sure don't make them like that anymore. Nice score!

Also I am running out of room in my lab.. can't really cram anymore test gear :(

The pics are of the Fluke 1911A. It passed all self-checks.

Thanks for the heads up, the 'accounting dept.'   :scared:   has gone shoppink..  :phew:

--------------------

So that's where my Tek 5111's overseas brother lives  ;D

Only 2mhz BW but everything you need for low frequency stuff and great for audio work,

Features analogue capture storage, BIG screen, multi mode storage/non storage/ with upper/lower/both split screen combos,
flexible XYZ and Raster stuff, etc

My beast is 8 channel (pimped out with 2 x 4 channel plugins) and dual sweep delaying time base

and yes all 8 channels can be on all at once in any crazy display mode possible

Old school classic oscilloscopery at its best, practical and FUN to use   :-+

oh, and NICE GEAR SCORE btw

Thanks mate. 8 channels would certainly make for a crazy display. I rarely ever use more than two.

I am still debating what scopes to build and keep. I bought the lot looking for a nice 547, but I am really starting to like the other 500 series scopes too now that I've played with them. I have about 10 plugins for each series/ generation so I can build three bad ass scopes that span the 3 production lines as well.

Sounds like a plan  :-+

fwiw: The square switches tend to gum up a bit and make you think the scope has the usual suspect issues,
but if you spray them up a bit with the good stuff sparingly, and work them a lot.. well I have been on the right side of 'persistant luck' in that regard with all the old school Tek, Telequip, and Phillips oscilloscopes.
Some of the problematic switch/controls are a hassle to get to and get into,
but a couple of patient hours work pays off with years of return use
(and less urges to sledge the problem)

Before doing that, confirm there is some sort of life or triggered flicker when you work the switches, then track down the most severe ones first, you may not have to do them all  (I'm minimal and or LAZY)

If you haven't powered up the storage oscilloscopes on yet, Tek manuals recommend you do it a certain way if they haven't been on for a while.
Suggest a quick looksee in the owner manual PDFs.
It's a -must do- for the 5111 and probably why mine is still kicking like new !

That's all I can remember for now,
millions may disagree, but I get most of my gear working with elbow grease first,
before getting medieval probing PSUs, refreshing solder joints, banging boards and the usual --another relaxing afternoon gone south-- business  |O
