Fake FETs
« on: April 23, 2021, 01:27:12 am »
Thought I would share this info:
Just got some FETs delivered from ELELEPARTS.
They are labeled J310 but are definitely NPN transistors.

Very disappointing.

That is outrageous.. I don't understand how this scam could possibly pay back  :-//. Maybe we can keep a list of trusted eBay suppliers for NOS stuff which is not available through standard suppliers, although of course it could get infiltrated by scammers.

I had exactly the same thing happen.  Seller then had the gall to ask If I needed NPN transistors instead of returning them.
There's no point getting old if you don't have stories.

Possibly we could have a board where we put up bogus devices and their sellers.
I am unable to even unable to give the seller a bad review because somehow they switched my ID to one I hac never heard of and I cannot sign in. The FETs do not even appear on my purchased list!!
Apparently the e bay reviews are useless.

I know there is on unhappy shopping experience place but maybe we could be more specific as to fake parts.

I ordered some MMBFJ310 from aliexpress. And guess what: I got NJFET with at least data that correlates to the J310 and it works in my amplifier. Seller was https://www.aliexpress.com/store/1523448
May order again as OnSemi indicates "Last order" on that part.

You can always report the seller to eBay directly from the listing (there is a link "Report item" in every listing), let'em have it!  :D

Has anyone bought any good J310 FETs in quantity? 50 or more? Thru hole.
I eventually did get some good ones on ebay from ma_vm. Mary Anns Store, since 1999.
Reasonable price also.

I have not bought any J-310 from this vendor but have bought other items I was happy with.

He has them at ten for $7.50.

Cheers,

I tried to report them as per SinverSolder's hint but got:

Please contact eBay Customer Service.

Another part of their scam to guarantee "Buyer Satisfaction" ???

The eBay web team is mostly focused on eliminating all non-white pixels from their pages, too much like hard work to make sure their links work!
