For Sale: Tektronix 495P Spectrum Analyzer
« on: May 14, 2011, 09:17:55 pm »
I will be moving in a couple of years and need to downsize a bit (yes, it will take that long to get rid of this stuff lol) and would like to sell my Tektronix 495P Spectrum Analyzer.  It seems to work fine but could probably use calibration (been awhile since the last calibration was done).  The unit is located in WA state and is pretty heavy to ship (probably $70 or so to lower 48 USA).  I will take some pics later but it is like the one shown here (not looking to get that much for mine, but open to offers):

It's about $800 too much - you can get brand new BK Precision 2.4 GHz on ebay for under $1400.

Well if you compare the two side by side the Tek wins hands down. There really is no comparison (even if it goes to just 1.8GHz). The low frequency limit of this baby is only 100Hz.
There is a reason these cost more than 45000 USD in 1985. Well they normally go for 1800 EUR here in europe so whoever got it can be really happy.
One can never have enough oscilloscopes.
