Franky, My understanding of the YZXstudio devices either isn't great, or what i'm looking for doesn't exist.
Can you confirm if any of the devices support the USB3.1 charging specification where charging using 5, 9 12 and 20 volts are supported?

Most of the models basically passes whatever voltage and current directly from your charger to the device being charged. I only have a QC 2.0 charger to test so I can't do 12/20V, but I can do either 5V or 9V with no problem even with the older LCD models. If you require USB 3.0 (not sure about 3.1) for the faster data lines as well (such as testing an external flash drive's power consumption), then currently the ZY1273 is the only model that supports USB 3.0: http://www.ebay.com/itm/172705526309

Franky, I just bought some banana plugs from you on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/4mm-32A-Rated-Stackable-Unshrouded-Banana-Plugs-1-Pair-Red-Black/172588238483?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

I can't believe I'm asking this, but I can't figure out how I'm supposed to attach the wire... I had assumed that the small hole near the middle was a solder point, but now I don't think so. It looks like the metal flange on the pin seats on a shoulder on the plastic body and there is no room for a wire. All I can figure is that you could solder the wire to the very back of the pin, after the flange - but it doesn't look like it was designed for that either? Can you advise please!

Thanks

I think you have to put the wire into the hollow pin so you can solder it using the small hole, but it's hard to say without having it on the bench.

Scrap that, it will not be stackable that way...

Put the little cover over the wire you're going to solder (hole on angled side), then solder the wire to the outside of the metal pin. Next, insert it into the main body and snap the plastic cover in place.

Solder the wire at an angle to the outside of the pin, right between the hole and the ring. I wish I could show you a picture but I don't have one at the moment...

FWIW, these are the ones I have on hand.

And the link just above this one has the grabber hooks I have as well. Micro versions as well, which use the same design for wire attachment.

Hi,

I own a ZL1100. The problem is that I thought it could be used to measure a USB device power consumption, however its only for testing power banks and power sources (no usb output). I would like to know which YZXstudio device is the best and latest (with the most features like USB 3.1 and most compatible with fast charging, etc...)
What are the differences between YZXstudio Series? ZY1276 vs ZY1273 vs ZY1272 vs ZY1271 vs ZY1270 vs ZY1266 vs ZY1265 vs ZY1263 vs ZY1262 vs ZY1252 vs ZY1231 vs ZY1230? Feel free to ignore the discontinued models (obsolete models or the ones that were retire due to the OLED screen availability issue).

Thanks.

They have so many different models now it's going to take a lot of writing to compare the differences... The table chang1 posted above is a good summary but you need to be able to read Chinese unfortunately.

It might actually be easier for me to make recommendations for you if you can list the features you need/want.

A bit off topic, but.. can I pick your brains (on everyone's behalf, I guess) on what the chinglish for light pipes might be? Western distributor prices would be hilarious if they weren't insulting..

Try "side glow", "light guide", "acrylic rod" or a combinations of these. I can't really figure out the exact Chinglish words myself...

I can find suppliers in China that sell them but for the life of me I really can't figure out what keywords they use to advertise their stuff in English language marketplaces... Here's one I found on Taobao:

Not managing to find much with those terms, either. Well hidden, apparently. Some of those on Taobao I can get locally (annoyingly, missing one specific part number I'd need).. for less than those prices. :/

Think I'll go with some through-hole LED blocks. Thanks for looking, Franky. :)

Is there any reason not to plug a ZY1270 into a computer USB port and plug devices into the meter, like a hard disk or a WLAN adapter?

ZY1270 supports USB 2.0 only. It will slow down data transfer speed if your device is USB 3.0 or above. ZY1273 is the only model that supports USB 3.0 in YZXstudio's current product lineup.
