I'd say, let oscilloscopes be free. They have it tough enough without being wanted.

Free scopes do exist. I know of a bunch of Tek 475s in Florida which can be had for free, local pickup only. However, none of them work. so you'd need to have a working scope to fix them. And considerable skill and patience
I've got several scopes including a Heathkit IO-18 which are free to a good home, but I'm in central Arkansas. Also local pickup only. I doubt that any of them work, though the IO-18 did the last time I tried it which was a long time ago. I'd expect the caps are bad by now.

I don't think even a new user came here thinking this is where to try and get a free scope, and made it their first post, without putting even a slight bit f effort, background, or courtesy in it. I bet someone has setup a fake account, to try their luck, without the embarrassment.

You would have thought Dave had enough scopes though; someone needs to tell him TEA means you ask for help anonymously, not more bloody scopes.

Ok, if this is some kind of social experiment, here is an extra data point:
Even if I had a scope around that I wanted to give away, I would not give it to you, because you haven't shown any respect towards the people you are asking to help you. At least explain your situation and why you need the scope. And your likelihood of getting a scope would be higher if your tone was "politely asking" instead of "demanding with specific conditions to be met."

I guess this is the place to ask for it if you don't know a university which is ready to giveaway old scopes. However, registering an account just for that seems like cheating.
I myself would appreciate a free scope but I live in Jordan and shipping will be more than scope price itself XD. Thus I didn't put a thread here since no one will be able to help, unless they really wanna give away a scope and ready to ship it.
I believe free scopes are locally picked only, someone like me has no other choice but to pay a lot to get one *__* that is why I wanna buy that Banggood portable scope.

In the recent R&S giveaway there was an entry that included a scope with built in printing functionality.
If we can get the OP's details we could club together and give them one of those.
