Saved from the skip, looks like the heating element has failed (or the inline thermal fuse strapped to the extruder...)

I've powered it up, smooth movement in Z, Y and Z. Extruder doesn't heat up and their is some old filament stuck in it. The box contains the printer, PSU, and 2 spools of ABS filament. There is no guide tube from filament spool to extruder, but that doesn't seem like a game-changer. There is also no memory stick, but i guess any old USB stick will work, but it has wifi and a USB host connection anyway.

Well thank you, Ian, I'll think it over. I've three problems with the thing:

- Can't use generic filament, need to buy it from 3D Systems (or hack but the company will likely patch via wifi, goddamn cloud!)
- Don't know what heating element is used
- The GBP is strong these days

But it's still a tempting offer. I'll come back to you. If you made it 200 € it'd be a nobrainer.

Still for sale if anybody else wants to step in, I need to get things moved quick because I just don't have the space to have them hanging around.

Ah, I thought our Norwegian currency was bad, the GBP is crazy expensive now.. for me EUR and USD is also very expensive now.. :/

Just think of us in ZA. I just ordered some springs from the UK. 9p for a spring and 100GBP shipping. Can't get them locally so the UK supplier it is. They were also rather surprised at the courier costs, but I need them at least before mid August, not December.

I paid £72 to send a single sheet of A4 to Saudi, was supposed to be a 2 day service but took a week. Well done Fedex, at least they gave me my money back quicker than it took them to deliver the bloody letter!

It will be interesting to see, if parts are available from 3D Systems.
I am looking forward to this repair and usage of the printer.

As I mentioned, there is a hack that, depending on software version, enables you to use any filament with the printer. Mind the comments.

If that fails, people have used parts from a raprap rambo (including a new extruder) with the CUBE 3D.

Good luck! If I had the time and money, I had done it.
