G'day Everyone,

Note: This scope is not in a fully functioning state and is more a "project" or "for parts" type deal, but should make a good platform to repair from.

This thing has had a hard life. I acquired it sometime in 2016 I believe. It must have been dropped or crushed. Some panel beating was required to push the back corner out. When I first saw it, I expected the neck on the tube to be broken for sure. [1] 2/4 feet are missing. There is no front cover, manual or probes.

I haven't had the time to continue the repairs on it and figure it's better in someone else's hands.

The unit fails diagnostics [2] but does show waveforms. [3]
It has issues with POST showing the following errors:
Fail ++ Acq/Proc Interface
Fail ++ Acquisition
Fail ++ Attn/Acq Interface

There are some unusual vertical ~7v offsets. The 0.5v test signal sits at ~6-7v. If you line up the trigger line with a rising edge on a trace on the screen, it will trigger. Just any of the voltages you read are not meaningful/accurate.

The front panel is in "OK" shape. [4]

In 2019 I re-capped it. [5] There was a lot of corrosion. Also an issue with one of the large ICs [6]

In 2021 I reworked U508[7] which had been completely detached from the board by corrosion.

I figure it's at least $200 worth of parts for someone with a TDS-5XX. I’m looking for $200AUD. The unit must be collected. I don’t want to ship it.
