I've just waded through a couple of pallets of returned/mislabelled/discontinued 'stuff' and weeded out most of the useful bits. I threw the 'utter crap' away and tossed the 'can't be arsed crap' into a box. So I've got a 7.5Kg box full of mostly SMD components, passive and active. Lots of random rolls of 500 R's and C's, bags of 10-20 random FET's, IC's and diodes, fuses, connectors, screws, good old crap.

£20 shipped in the UK, no returns and no complaints it's all crap!!

SOLD!

Sold about a dozen times over in 10 minutes.

There will be more boxes of mystery crap, smaller ones next time I think.

Pics?

So those not managing to buy one can at least discuss how crappy that box-o-crap really is  ;)

Box-O-Crap has already been shipped so I'll leave it up to the proud buyer (dunkemhigh) to decide if he should let the full extent of his folly be known!!

I'll see if I can find a part-tray of XC5VLX155's to slip in before taking photos.

So, y'all wanted to know what it's like to receive 7.5kg of SMD junk. Here's what I found on my doorstep today (sorry about the delay - dictionary.com toolbar screwed my PC):

Opening it up looked promising:

Spread a bunch of stuff out (that left pile is resistors):

And after that, this is what's left in the box:

It went on and on and on! Most of it seemed to be resistors of some form, but that's probably because the tapes get everywhere. I found two PTH tants, but the next biggy seems to be mosfets. Some LEDs (a few of big bad boys in there), connectors, weird switches, card rails/ejectors, even two packs of AA batteries :)

Slight snag is that a fair amount of stuff is in open packets. Rather, they were but aren't now, so there are a lot of unidentifiable 0402 specs of dust (but at least I know they're resistors!). Also, some chips which got loose and header for the cellar:

A puzzling issue is a large number of these:

Clearely, they are meant to fit a small project box, but they don't see to be anti-static and are too thin the have much in the way of substance. No idea what they're used for.

Some sort of dust filter?

One man's junk is another's treasure.

I confess I'm a sucker for this type of thing, digging through and finding out what's there is always interesting.

Sometimes it can lead to slightly amusing situations - I bought a box of spare bits from one company which included a few old u-blox GPS modules. Since I had no use for these I put them up on ebay.

The first sold no problems. Think I got a tenner for it.

The second sold and things got a bit wierd because the buyer contacted me and asked if I could urgently (i.e special delivery before 9am) send it............back to where I bought it from  :wtf:

Turns out he had one of their products with a faulty GPS module of that type and I had the only spare to be found anywhere!

Indeed, I could do with a box of those..

If you want to part with some random small boxes of crap made from the big box of crap, I imagine there are a few takers here. :)

Sure, if anyone sees something in particular I'm amenable to suggestions :)

I appreciate you can't see much in the photos, and even with everything spread out you don't see much since they're all bagged (except the bagged ones that are no longer bagged). I've not got around to itemizing anything yet but when I had I can post a list if people are interested.

One thing I do know: 0402 is too small for me and someone else would surely benefit from spilling them on the carpet.
