SOLD (UK): EA variable transformer 0-260Vac 4.5A

Customer return, no output voltage. Quick look inside and the carbon brush on the wiper arm has arced itself into oblivion. I can't be arsed taking this thing apart and replacing it, it weighs 31Kg for a start.

That's an interesting looking unit..

I noticed it's isolating, but two transformers and the variac? Does it step up to a higher voltage first to reduce current on the variac?
