Correct link:  https://www.ebay.com/itm/266915904710

You should probably give these a try when you've posted them and you'd see that the links you gave fail due to the trailing period. Either leave that off (as here) or wrap the link in the URL codes.

I keep on trusting the copy/paste of the address from the eBay page works (which is doesn't), and even if I try to edit the link post-factum, it doesn't seem to work (at least for me, editing the original post). I'm not sure if the core issue resides in the forum software or whatnot, but maybe I'm to crazy to think copy/pasting a simple link shouldn't be this problematic.

You were very close on the link address - it just had an extra full stop at the end, which is enough to trip up browsers.

It's simple enough to check - just click on the link once you've put your post up and make sure it goes where you expected.  It's easy enough to fix up if you got it wrong - just "Modify", make the correction and then "Save".

And re-check.   ;D

I share your dislike for copying stuff off the internet and eBay has a special place in my heart.... :(

I appreciate your point, but no. Even if I edit my original post - "end dot" removed - it would still go to the charismatic "we looked everywhere." Out of the OPs I edited, some such edits are successful, some are not, and I'm not sure what to make of it. Why does that faithful "end dot" ever show up? I'm not putting it there.

Not sure what's happening there.

As an exercise, I clicked on all the "wrong" links and when I got to that "we looked everywhere" page, I simply deleted the dot and it worked fine.

Are you on a device with predictive text?  Maybe it's thinking you've finished a sentence and has put in the full stop for you ... 'cause it wants to be helpful.

It looks like you're right - I edited my original post. Thank you for looking close at this, and my apologies for all of the noise.
