SOLD - FS (US/N.D.): Tektronix 2215 (Inop) $=Shipping - SOLD
Skimask:
Tek 2215, 60Mhz o'scope, no probes, has power cable, has baggie that goes on top. Does NOT work!
Got it off a friend a number of years ago, before I didn't know what I didn't know. Back in the day, it used to squeal when powered up and you could get a "beam find", but that was it. Now, nothing when power is applied. I've had it apart a few times since then, looking for the obvious bad cap, bad "part x", whatever. Never could find the correct service manual for it.
If somebody wants it for pieces/parts, cosmetics, etc, hook me up with whatever it costs to ship it, and I'll be happy.
Scale says it weighs about 15.5lbs, add a pound for packaging. UPS website says it'll cost between $20-$40 via UPS Ground in the US.
Heck, for that matter, hook me up with one of Dave's uCurrent Adapters, and I'll ship it and throw a $20 in the box along with it! :) Seems like both are equally rare these days...
TheBorg:
Wow. I wish I knew how to fix stuff like this :'( Thinking about taking it though, in the rare event I might be able to fix it. :-BROKE
Tom:
If TheBorg isn't interested, I definitely am. What part of the U.S. are you located, Skimask?
TheBorg:
To Tom: I'd be interested if there was any hope of repair. If its likely a bad CRT or something, probably not. If that's the case then it's all yours!
Skimask:
CRT showed a beam find the first dozen or so times I powered it on, but that was accompanied by the squeal...like anything probably from the power supply somewhere.
So, I'm thinking CRT and the rest of the electronics are OK. Probably something in the power supply. I put an ESR meter on all the caps, looked for the obvious, meter'd a few things here and there. Nothing obvious threw itself out and hit me.
I do know how to fix stuff like this, but this is beyond me, especially without a good service manual and schematics that match up.
