Hello,

I have 8x used oil high voltage capacitors for sale. 40uF 2.5KV
Pictures and plate info attached.
I've measured all of them. They're all within 10% spec @ 100Hz. ESR is around 0.22 Ohms. Most measure above 40uF.
Date code is 1987.
None of them are bulging top or bottom.
None of them leak.
Each weighs 1.75KG

Nice caps, but  check for PCB oil dielectric or NON-PCB.

Should be on label if NON-PCB.

If these are PCB, considered hazardous waster and need special disposal with gov fees.

Check UK and EU regulation on prohibited substances

Use of PCB compounds in the UK where these were installed has been illegal since 1981 (87 in the EU), so it's very unlikely these contain PCB oil as they were manufactured after this date, and installed even later.

Should be on label if NON-PCB.

There was no legal requirement to label as such. It was discretionary. All you can go on it the date code which is why I posted that. Thanks for the heads up though.

They should be fine. It's a bit weird that there's no label, maybe they didn't put it because they never used PCB in the past.
