$130 for a single vacuum tube? What makes them special?

I see they sell for much higher - I'm not trying to challenge your price, I'm genuinely asking you - what makes them special?

Looks roughly like a dual 12B4 with higher gain (possibly frame grid?).  Would be good for pass regulation (original application), or preamp line drivers / headphones amplifiers, possibly OTL (these days).

As for audiophool pricing, who knows?

Seems that they are made by nude virgins. People write that they are ultra-linear and introduce almost no harmonics.

I am of the impression that people who want "ultra-linear" tubes have no idea what feedback does. ::)

Feedback is a taboo for tube fans.

As is common sense, sometimes.

Huh? BJTs are almost purely exponential, that's about as nonlinear as you can get... much, much less linear than tubes... you have to linearize them with negative feedback. FETs are in between.

I guess he means it terms of sound. That such tube amplifier will sound like transistor amp without "tube" coloring.
